Indian Head Massage
Traditional Indian Head Massage (IHM) originated in India over 2000 years ago. It is a very common practice there, as it is done fully clothed and seated on a chair, so can be done anywhere for any length of time. It works by using various strokes, circular and kneading massage techniques, to stimulate various Marma points on the head, neck, shoulders, chest, upper back, arms, (and face if desired). Marma points are connected to the Chakras, and are similar to acupressure points in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
By stimulating the Marma points, the relaxing techniques can help unblock energy, release tension and fascia, boost circulation, relieve sinus problems, improve energy levels, relieve headaches/eye pain, release endorphins, improve sleep and much more. IHM can be enjoyed as a stand alone treatment for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. The most popular treatment I do is 30 minutes of IHM followed by an hour of Reflexology. A complete head to toe healing experience. Indian Head Massage is incredibly relaxing, and particularly helpful for those busy, stressed out people who struggle to 'get out of their heads' and into their body. IHM is also very beneficial for those who work at a desk, and hold a lot of tension in the upper back, neck and shoulders. It can be done with or without oil, whatever your preference. It is suitable for people of all ages.
Each Indian Head Massage will be tailored to your individual needs and preferences. It can easily be done in the comfort of your own home, just using a chair with a mid back. I do many mobile Indian Head Massages, particularly with more senior people who often don't receive any pleasant touch. You can book your IHM here
